Three lawmakers of the minor opposition Democratic Labor Party (DLP) Monday registered as contenders for the party primary to select a presidential candidate, party officials said.  Representatives Roh Hoe-chan, Kwon Young-ghil and Sim Sang-jeung signed a joint agreement to run a fair race, they said.

``We will not run negative campaigns, and (will) try to make this a pleasant primary through collaboration with each other,'' the statement said. ``We will make the DLP primary a momentum for the party's unity and development.''

The party will continue to accept registration until July 21, and party members will select a presidential candidate between Aug. 20 and Sept. 9 by voting.
