Republicans Abroad-Korea is now on Facebook. If enough members join, this could be a good tool for us to communicate between meetings.
If you are a Facebook member, just do a search for "Republicans Abroad Korea" and request to join. I (Andy Jackson) check my email almost every day so you will be signed in pretty quickly.

Members of Republicans Abroad and guests celebrated Thanksgiving on November 29 at the VFW Canteen in Seoul. About 24 people came out.
Special guest "Bernard" Cho Jae-hyeong, Director of Strategic Projects for the Jeju Free International City Development Center briefly talked about how Jeju province is developing itself as a modern regional business center for Asia. We appreciate Mr. Cho's taking the time to join us.
Thanks to Bob Gilbert for arranging the food purchase and John Lee for picking it up. Thanks also to the volunteers who brought additional food as well as the cutting board and two rice cookers.
I would also like to thank the folks at the VFW for giving us a hospitable welcome to the Canteen and for their cooperation in setting it up.
Here are a couple of pictures.

Guest speaker Cho Jae-hyeong speaks to RAK members and guests.
RAK is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Dinner this Saturday:
We have ordered two Turkey dinners with the standard complement of side dishes. The cost is 20,000 won per person; 10,000 won for children under 15. We would also appreciate it if you could bring a side dish or desert.
Please RSVP Andy at andyinrok@lycos.com by 5:00 on Thursday, November 27 if you would like to attend.
The dinner 'officially ends at 7:00 but the I am pretty sure that the folks at the Canteen would be more than happy for folks to stick around and drink their beer.
Here are a couple of maps to the Canteen (mislabeled "Lodge," the VFW has "posts").
Area map from Noksapyeong (click for larger, printable map):
Detailed map:
Directions: Take the #6 (Brown) line to Noksapyeong Station. Exit through exit #2. Walk strait from the exit (with wall on your left and road on your right) for 6-8 minutes. When you come to a stop light and a cross walk, take the small road that forks to the left (see detailed map). Walk 5-7 minutes. You will see it on your left. It is in the basement. Look for 2 Blue & Yellow signs in front of bldg, one says “VFW Canteen” It is in the basement.
If you are driving, go North from Noksapyeong Station, turn left at the first stop light and look for parking. The maps are two years old, so the parking lot marked on the detailed map might be gone.
I, on behalf of Republicans Abroad-Korea, congratulate president-elect Obama on his victory.
Like Republicans elsewhere, I will support him when we agree and oppose him when we disagree. But in any case, as the incoming duly elected president of my republic, he has my loyalty. When I oppose him, it will be a loyal opposition.
From Senator McCain's concession speech:
Tonight, more than any night, I hold in my heart nothing but love for this country and for all its citizens, whether they supported me or Senator Obama, I wish Godspeed to the man who was my former opponent and will be my president.
And I call on all Americans, as I have often in this campaign, to not despair of our present difficulties but to believe always in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here.
Americans never quit. We never surrender. We never hide from history, we make history.
I thank Senator McCain and Governor Palin for their efforts in this election.
RAK volunteers Bob Gilbert, Kurt Mohay, Kalali O'Sullivan, Andy Jackson and George Geddes provided voting assistance during the air show at Osan Air Base on October 11 and 12. They helped about 45 people register to vote or request absentee ballots. They also provide federal write-in ballots.
John Lee, working with members of Democrats Abroad, provided voting assistance at the VFW tent during the Fall Festival at Yongsan Garrison on October 11.
