The Jeongja is closed

It is official, this blog is closed for business.  I want to thank both of my loyal readers for reading my rants over the years.

Between growing work commitments, taking care of a growing family and trying to take my writing in a new direction*, I just do not have time to keep this blog at a level I think is worthwhile.  So, this is most likely my last post here.

I will keep writing at the Marmot's Hole and I want to improve on my anemic production at  TCS Daily.  I also hope to start writing for a few other publications.  If all goes well, my upcoming piece with Campaigns & Elections magazine will be the start of my working with more 'mainstream' media.  Time will tell.

The Yangban has died, but the shadow of the Yangban will remain for some time.  I need to work a few things out (such as moving pictures to a new host and finding a home for the seldom used Republicans Abroad blog) but you might as well kill any links you have to me.

*Yes, I have become one of those big-headed bloggers who now thinks he is 'writing' rather than blogging.  OK, not really, but I do want to develope some writing skills and perhaps make writing at least a part-time gig.

Aww, and I just found you too... Bollocks.

"so long! and thanks for all of the fish..."

You were wrong...three readers so far. Sorry to see you go but at least I'll still be able to see you contribute over at The Marmot's Hole.

Thanks for the effort, I enjoyed it through all its morphs.

Best wishes in your new endeavours!

And I was just about to add you to my sidebar, now that I've finally decided to add politics bloggers to it. Of course, I still read you at the Marmot's Hole. Good luck with your writing.

It's not so bad here in the blog graveyard.

This is a very sad day in IKK history. One of its best is gone, and we will miss the Yangban. Thanks again for your great Freedom House posts.

I forgot to add something: as a new dad of a Korean-Canadian baby, I appreciated your documenting your experiences relating to the birth of your daughter, and her registration with the US embassy and in the Korean hojok system; thank you!

Thanks for 'a job well done' here.

I will be missing you, and I sincerely wish you well in your new endeavors.

It has been a long road. We all started blogs about the same time to express our outrage about the Race Riots of 2002. I wish we could all get together and have a beer and talk about old times.

Take Care

Sunsets From My Window

I lived in a twelfth-floor apartment in Ansan, Korea for about 18 months. As you can see, it offered some pretty good views in the evening. My wife and I often enjoyed the summer sunsets during dinner.
