The Yangban will be flying for real this week. I'm making the hop down from Korea to the tropical islands of Guam and Saipan. While it sounds like fun (and will be, at least a little), I'm going there on a business trip.
I am an English instructor in the Department of Tourism English at Ansan College. As part of my job, I have helped set up a one-year training program for some of our students at several resorts on Guam and Saipan. Once a year, I and another professor go down there to see how our students are doing and how we can improve the program.
I will also be working with the other professor on a book that has to be finished by the end of the month. We already finished the first draft but the publisher is breathing down our necks about getting the final draft done.
But it won't be all work. We will be hanging out with some of our students on Thursday afternoon (Saipan) and Friday evening (Guam). Also, come hell or high water, I will relax with a few beers on Thursday night.
For anyone who doesn't get the reference in the title, it comes from a Jimmy Buffett song.
